A fun day in WATERLOO!

Future Racer!  :)

Today I went with Kristin, Krystal and Jackie to the Waterloo Circuit Race which is part of the Tour of America's Dairyland and 10 great days of racing here on my home turf! I was really wishing I was racing but my leg--and my lungs--are not quite ready yet. I am toying with the idea of racing sometime next week but we'll see how things go training wise this week. Anyway, while not racing is difficult, today I was nominated both team photographer and team director so it took my mind off not having on my kit and being part of the group in the typical "team mate" way. It was a busy job and I got to speak into the radio and give the girls some information as they raced. It was hard to take photos and talk at the same time as I was really trying to concentrate on the race and giving the girls the best advice I could. It also made me feel a bit more part of the team than just hanging out and watching.

The race got off to a good start and Krystal covered the first break by Verducci. Awesome job! Then on about the second break of the race Kristin was in the mix and this break kept increasing their lead throughout the race to stick until the end. With a Verducci rider, an IS Corp, a Lipsmacker and Kristin from Kenda represented, BH USA was the only team which would try to chase it down but wasn't able to do it thanks to some good control on the front by Krystal and Jackie and a couple of other teams in the break.

In the end Kristin sprinted following the Verducci rider for 2nd and a podium spot and Jackie finished 11th in the money. Krystal cranked up the pace on the last lap leading the group to a nice strung out finish. Great job to all of my awesome team mates.

It was so much fun hanging out with the girls today! I can't remember laughing so hard in a long time! It all started out with the remainder of my leg scab falling off in the car on the way to the race! GROSS! I had to throw it out the window and we were all in hysterics about it! Sorry for grossing everyone out!

Highlights (and lowlights) of the day:

***Jackie knowing the lyrics to every song on Kristin's IPHONE. It was quite entertaining!

***Kristin missing her podium ceremony! Crap! A little faster on the post race routine next time! :(

***Watching the race and our team doing so well! The girls were really awesome to watch and did a great job with only 3 of them!

***Christy missing the race due to a traffic jam in Chicago. :(

***Krystal's post race meal. Yummy!

Mmmm, makes me want to go raw!

See you at Grafton tomorrow! It will be another exciting day of racing!  :)

Yo Mo! Glad you're back on the blog, if not in the peloton... yet.

The cute kid looks like Cousin Oliver on the Brady Bunch!

best -- H.

"Dehisced" is a GR8 name for a heavy metal band, BTW.
